Lightbulb 2000 Grand Voyager SE 3.3- Whines under acceleration

Hi All;

My 2000 GV SE 3.3 (90k mi.) gives off a high pitched whine when under acceleeration. The sound is very quiet if accelerating slowly, but it increases in pitch and volume as you increase throttle. As it shifts, the whine will revert to the lower RPM, levels but increases as you accelerate thorugh that gear. Once you reach a constant speed the whine all but disappears.

I purchased this vehicle 3 weeks ago and it did not have any such noise. It did seem to have a light click-click-click when engaging in either reverse or drive. From what I've read here that sounds pretty normal.

Any advice?

Thanks,
-Tim

ok,

It apparently is the ac compressor, it whines only when the ac is off. Since the compressor pully is spinning without a load, my guess is that it is a bearing that is whining.

Anyone got any advice on this?

!!! I miss my Dart !!!
