tranny opinion
tell me what you all think about the 200 4r trannys, are they any good? if u build one up will they hold up and handle all the abuse you can give it?

i have one sitting in my garage from my 88 ss with 245k on it, it still was going strong til someone hit me..an dit was driven hard

The 200r4 was a piece of junk when it came out and still is.I have heard of one going out after it was just rebuilt when I was attending an auto/diesel college.I remember the instructor was asking anyone that had a 700r4 to replace that piece of junk 200r4.Go with a 700 r4 instead of the 200r4

there is nothing wrong with the 200r4...nothing! if you build it right (grand national parts) it will kick as much butt per buck as a 700r4. just because some guy put wrong weights in it and it shot apart doesnt mean it is junk, it just means whoever built it was unedumacated!!!
the 200 can support 600 ftlb of tq when built with right parts
