disabling the security system

i have a 92 bonnie. anyone know a way i could kill the security system, without killing the car? it keeps causing--in various ways--my car to not start. like i said, it's a 92; i'm not too worried about anyone stealing it.

Re: disabling the security system

Are you referring to the VATS? If so, a resistor of equal value to the key can be connected to the VATS wires below the column. This would only help if the problem is at the ignition switch and not elsewhere down the line.

You might just try cleaning both the key and the ignition cylinder with rubbing alcohol before fiddling around with the wiring though.
