HEy all iv got a 1973 nova that iv beene working on for some time
i just finished the elctrical and the new engine is in but my body has minor dents and some rust(rust on roof has begun to make holes) what can i do ? and if i take my car to body shop how much am I looking at to get a good primer job and my rust cured or removed the metal its on?if any one has gone thru this stage id sure like some advice. thanks. |

Cut it out and weld in a patch, itll save you a lotta money. If you lived closer, Id offer to sell you the roof panel off this 74 that Ive parted out, but if its a small area, you could find a patch pretty easily to fix it with.

CDJr is right, the best repair is to use new metal. The cost you are asking about depends on how much and where the rust is on the car. The best way to find out is to stop by a few shops and get an estimate. Or if your handy and eager, learn how to do it yourself. Hang around others who have done body work to get some help and/or advice. Also read up on it or enroll in your community colleges body repair class if available.
