help installing audio system

Ok, I want to install it in an 87 Nissan 200SX, hatchback. I have parts but I don't know what to do with them. Here's what I got: Pioneer GM X372 Bridgeable 2 channel power amp 240 watts, 2 12" Optimus Pro 200 watts RMS subwoofers, 2 6.5" Sony 3-way speakers 180 watts, 2 1" Dome Tweeters 200 watts, and 2 speakers in the door panels. Is my amp powerful enough to support all that? what kind of amp kit should i get? what gauge wires should i use? where can i mount and hide the amp so i dont get robbed? can someone explain to me the installation process? please and thank-you!!

my first question is, is this your first installation? if yes then take the time to explore your car. start pulling things out learn the ins and outs of your car.

wiring the amp: you'll need a power, ground, remote, and rca cables to install. since your amp is only 240w there's no need for any outrageous gauge wire(8 gauge will suffice). 1st- in the back of your reciever you should have pre-amp outputs, this is where you plug in the rca the other end connects to the amp itself. 2nd- there should also be a place here to plug in the remote wire. 3rd- your power wire should be connected dirrectly to your batter and entered into the cab through the firewall somewhere.(hint: follow other wires that lead into the cab, chances are you'll find them behind the consol under the drivers side. 4th- where ever you mount the amp you have about a 3ft ground cable which should be connected to the body or frame of the car.

final- when running your cables from the front to the rear of the car hide them under the carpet and kick plates in the door seals, run the power down one side and the rca and remote down the other) good luck

Re: help installing audio system

in regards to whether or not your amp will support everything...are you talking all your speakers or just the subs? i HIGHLY doubt that the amp will support all your speakers, partially because it's a 2 channel and secondly because it's only 240. as far as wiring it all together it is not that hard. http://www.crutchfieldadvisor.com/S-...all_steps.html
is a good starting point and reference
