2000 1.0 wont turn over at all..
hell it wont even pop start...
ran fine to work,,,went to move the car and nothin. I ran a bypass wire to the solenoid...nothin. also did never hear the fuel pump engage either, and the radiator fan or a/c fan just runs nonstop... i pulled the starter for getting it tested just now...and the car is still stuck at work. i checked the neutral switch and it seemed fine but i could not still get anything out of the starter - soloenoid. Any Suggestions ? - thank you in advance. |

sounds like dead battery, blown main fuse or bad starter

Re: 2000 1.0 wont turn over at all..
main fuse is the one under the hood one of the large 12 amp ones right ?
Battery is good, I got a separate Battery and voltage tested both... I took out the starter and had it tested and its good... |

Is the ground wire that goes from the firewall to the distributor any good? That ground is required for the starter.

main fuse is a 40 or 50 amp, will be several under hood with different colors, about 1/2"x3/4"

Broken ground wire from negative post to transmission housing did not see it before because of the way it was connected and terminal connection hidden, took me bumping the wire to get it show a plain cut, so off to get a new negative cable for the battery...

Re: 2000 1.0 wont turn over at all..
In the end total cost to replace cable and new battery connector $9.00
Experience gained by checking all the systems out...priceless. |
