2000 Spark Plug Replacement

I have a 2000 Sonata (6 Cylinder) which recently tripped the check engine light for a problem with the number 6 spark plug. I would like to change the plugs and wires myself.

When I took a look at it, it appears that the intake manifold will need to be removed to gain access to the plugs.

So my questions is, is this a difficult job to remove the manifold, and are there gaskets that will need to be replaced when reinstalling the manifold?

Any input is appreciated.

Re: 2000 Spark Plug Replacement

It's a pretty easy job, even on the V6. If you are carefull about it, you shouldn't need to replace the gasket. It's a thin metal gasket, so if you can any little bends or kinks in it, you'll want to replace it. Plug part # is 18817-11051, they list for $13.25/ea, and the intake gasket part # is 29215-37100 with a list of $14.32. Wires are part # 27501-37A00, list price of $88.84. That's a list of $182.66, I'll sell it all to you for $145 shipped for all of it. I have it all in stock.

Re: Re: 2000 Spark Plug Replacement

Hi,
I am looking to replace the sparkplugs on a 1999 sonata V6 GLS. I believe the same parts are required. Please let me know if you can send the parts for price (145$ shipped) you quoted for the 2000 car.

Also, I do not have an owner's manual. Please let me know where and how much I can get one for. Thanks.
