Our 98 Transport/Montana has run perfect till the other day. It's been overheating the last couple days. Fans didn't seem to run when the engine got hot. Replaced the switch by the block. That didn't work. Replaced the "cooling fan mode" relay. Fans start working - happy camper. Only for about 3 days. Van overheated again - this time the service engine light came on. Took it to AutoZone to use their computer plugin and they said our computer was froze? Disconnected the battery cable to reset computer, didn't work. Replaced all the fuses and relays, still nothing. Took it to the dealer a couple hours ago. They called back and said that the relay's all have power... "Don't know what the problem is". They are going to run more "tests" and it might be monday before they know what the problem is.... I heard my checkbook scream in agony when I got off the phone. Any suggestions?

check your radiator fluid and your reservoir and see if they ar low, have you fill these out recently or do you have to fill them up often?do you have and orange crust on your radiator cap? if you have both of these problems its most likely your intake manifold gasket. call this number and let them know your problem .800-7622737 if it is under warranty it's taken care of , if not they'll probably charge $100.00 diagnostic fee but make sure they warranty the gasket because its an uknown issue, pontiac knows about the problem and they hav a new gaskek and bolts as well as torque spec. Just make sure you get it taken care of asap, because it could result in a blown engine...just happen to me 3 weeks ago . talk to allison ext 57342, that's who i talked to maybe she'll eb able to help you out.
