ECU swap?

didnt i read somewhere that you can yank out the ecm (brain) from some mini van and put it in my 92 bonnie. for more power or soemthing... its for my race car

I swapped computers with a Transport van, it didn't do anything for performance, but it got it running right. I didn't swap the e-prom and now the transmission stays in 2nd gear when it is in perform-shift. I guess it thinks its a mini-van, but it works fine in normal shift mode
