hello,
I have a 1979 firebird with a 301, 2bbl and a 4 speed, ive looked everywhere for an 4 bbl intake and headers but cant seem to find any. does anyone here have any idea where i can buy either? thanks in advance.

the reason you have a hard time finding any, is because nobody wants to soup up a 301, can't get much out of those. your best shot is to contact any of the pontiac shops and aftermarket sources, try nunzi's maybe he can be of help...

yeah you can get a set of headers from Jegs for a 301. for around $250
and as far as a 2bbl to a 4bbl conversion. try edlebrock. (get the catalog) from both companies.

but if you want more power, bore the block out.(only good for another 100-150hp.depends on what you add. just don't go to far or expect too much from the 301. ) or just get a 400ci motor.

Try a 1980-1981 Trans Am, same engine and they had 4bbl

just get a 400 or 455 smogger with a 4bbl. it will bolt right in an have more power, the 455 is also a massive torque monster
