D15b2 Headers smoking,,,,on a 88 civic HB DX

ok, i gotta 1988 honda civic hatchback with a d15b2 im running about 100-110hp with mods i did... i gotta question

my excaust headers keep smoking alot no matter what.....

i took off the excaust cover would that have anything to do with it???....

can some one give me a list of things to look for,,, i think its coming from the top of the manifold but sometimes it looks like its coming from the bottom,,,

please give me some tips...

also if the gasket is old could that be a reason why its over heating,

thanks[/size],

is it a new header or the stock exhaust manifold?...maybe you just got oil on it and its just burning off or something...or maybe you got a leak in your exhaust manifold...

Even if you dryed up the wd40, the residue is probably still there. Have you done a compression test?

maybe your header flange is warped and not seating right. Gotta try to pinpoint where the leak is comming from.
