944 NA Auto

The main reason I want a 944 is because it is known for its handling. Speed and acceleraction (spelling. @.@) is nice and all, but it does get boring after some time, so handling is much more fun to throw the car down in to a corner. Anyway, will having an automatic 944 NA be any differant in handling compaired to the turbo and S2?

Re: 944 NA Auto

The automatic will be alot slower than the manual. Slower shifts and it only has 3 gears, harder to accelerate out of a corner. The suspension will be the same as other 8v n/a's though. Turbos and S2's have better suspension.

Hmmm... well I am mostly in to corning at high speeds, think paying 3 grand for a 87 944 with 120,000 on it is worth it, will I sitll have fun throwing it down in to the corner?

The price doesn't sound too bad as long as it is in good condition. The transmission is all driver preference. I LOVE shifting my own gears. Sure driving it around some would be fun, but I think the automatic would get boring. Which do you prefer?

I also like to shift my own gears, but I do like Auto's also cause when your tired, its nice to just be able to hit the gas peddle and go.
