Pillar gauges are for amateurs that don't know how to read and distinguish their own car. They need some sort of device to tell them what does what, and when and where. You my friend are an amateur.

Who said i wasn't going to get one? I just dont have the funding for everything right now. I dont really need a bunch of guages because i know my cars well enough that i can tell by how it's running and certain sounds what i need to do.

hahah i have an idea. i know that .93 is 13.5 psi and i know 1.00 bar is 14.5 psi. thats all i need to know. if you want a cheap ebc, your out of luck. i spent 330 for mine blitz SBC spec S and yes that one reads in bars. but i also have a autometer boost gauge and i'll tell you, its sooooooooooo in accurate. when the boost controller was reading 7 psi, the guage was reading 9 psi. and guage reading was 15 psi, but true reading from the ebc was 13.5 psi. blah!!

Re: Got a race setup for the Indy bash

I had planned on getting the HKS EVC EZ boost controller, have you heard anything good or bad about that one?

my friend has one. its probrably the easiest one to set. i have no complaints about it. its just that it looks kinda cheesy. its just a box with two knobs. my friend got the EZ EVC with the screen. so it looks less cheap. and you can only have two boost settings on that particular controller.

there is no difference in performance between the one with the screen and one without. if you decide the choose the hks one, then you definitly would need a boost gauge since the standard ez evc is just a box with 2 knobs and on screen. you gotta adjust according to the boost gauge.

Re: Got a race setup for the Indy bash

I figured up the prices, to get the one with a guage built in would be roughly $738, and to get the one with just the knobs and then get a boost guage seperate would be $663.... Only time and cash flow will tell. All i know is i'm going with HKS cause most of the shit on the car so far is HKS.
