Vibration when stopped and foot on the brake!

When I am idle at a stop light with my foot on the brake I have a slight vibration throughout the car. What is this?

Sounds like your torque converter is not releasing fully. Try changing the transmission fluid and filter, this should clear things up.

How many miles on the car? What year and engine? It could be one of many things, like the torque converter or a bad mount or even something as simple as a bad spark plug.

Re: Vibration when stopped and foot on the brake!

Does it only vibrate when you have your foot on the brake, or will it happen in park? If it is only happening with your foot on the brake it is most likely a vacuum issue. Also will it do it if you are stopped with your foot on the brake and the car in neutral?

the car does it when I stop and keep my foot on the brake, but not in neutral.

Re: Vibration when stopped and foot on the brake!

Chances are that you have some type of vacuum problem since applying the brakes requires use of the vacuum system.
