fuse problems
having problems with a fuse... replaced the stereo system on my 92 g20 and now the gauge lights and shifter light do not work... checked the fuse block and the fuse labeled "tail lamp" was blown, went to replace it and as soon as the new fuse touches the contacts it blows... any suggestions as to the problem? fixes? thanks

Sounds like someone tapped the remote into the illumination. This is usually the case. It blows because the fuse on the amp is rated higher than the fuse for your lights. When drawing power, you will pop the smallest fuse. Disconnect the remote lead and replace the small light fuse. If this works, than you need to install the remote lead correctly. If this doesn't work, I've heard of people installing systems and nicking a factory wire causing a short somewhere. Obviously it has to do something directly related to your system taps or where your stereo wires run.
