Compressor clutch keeps disenging
Hey all, As usual once I have exhausted the usual sources I come to the best forums online
![]() I have a 93 Honda Civic DX that has something the matter with the AC. I have checked the cooling fluid through the peek hole and didnt see bubbles. The compressor fan works fine. It blows cool air for a while but then the compressor clutch starts disengaging. It seems to disengage at regular intervals even when driving and when at a standstill. It disengages every 4 seconds for about 2 seconds. I have checked the various relays and they checked out fine.I have tentativley decided it was coming from the ecm. I then grounded the wire coming from the ecm so I could see if that helped it did and it seemed to keep it running. However I then heard an awful shorting wire sound and promptly disconnected it. LOL everything seems to be working still, except the ac still Any help would be appreciated.. Also is there anyway to check the pressure of the freon in the system and if so what is the correct pressure supposed to be?? |

Re: Compressor clutch keeps disenging
Sounds like it's just low on freon. Sure there is a way to check pressures with a/c guages, hook them up to the low & high side with the engine running and a/c on. The correct pressures should be located on a sticker underhood with all other a/c info.
