We need help!! We have a 96 Ford Taurus GL 3.0L and the transmitions seems to be giving us trouble. We bought (3) sensors but we can't find them in the car so we can replace them. Does anyone know where to locate them??? We really need help.

Re: Speed Sensors
What are the sensors? Why did you purchase them? Need more information as to why the repairs are needed. Your vehicle has a lot of sensors on it. Need to have more information please.

Re: Speed Sensors
I recently replaced a speed sensor on my 96 Taurus. That is I bought the part and had the mechanic do it for me. Especially when I found it was located on ther top side of the tranny. I could barely see it. Let alone get to it.

Apparently the one on the top of the tranny is reached by supporting the engine with a gantry, undoing the mounts and bolts holding the cradle the engine sits on and moving the whole power plant so it's accessible. We're supposed to do mine in about 3 hours. I was hoping to find an easier way but the Ford shop here says that's how they do it.
