Re: fuel pressure regulator and new fuel rail
That might be a dealer question. I replaced the FPR in my 97 last year and I never got a question from the counterperson at the parts store. I received the recall notice but upon inspection I realized I already had the SS fuel rail. So maybe that's the answer? Maybe there is only one part#?

Look up FPR at Rockauto.com
I just had my fuel rail replaced yesterday. When I called about it a month or so ago, the service mgr suggested I also replace the FPR. I went to Rockauto.com and looked these up and saw two different fpr kits for my 97. There were AC Delco kits for the stainless AND the nylon fuel rail. These, of course, were only about $40 vs the $140 the dealer wanted.
Thanks. Brian |

When they replaced my fuelrail {on my 1997}a couple of weeks ago to stainless they put in my old FPR. I would have thought that it would have been replaced. So I went to O'Reillys to get an OEM FPR. They did not have one so I went ahead and replaced it with a Borg-Warner { part # 23045 }FPR and it worked fine. If I have trouble with BW part I will put out more effort and replace it with a OEM. Here are the links to my before and after pics on my fuelrail anyone is interested.

When the dealer replaced the fuel rail on my 95 to stainless they tried to use my old FPR but it leaked. They replaced it too under warranty as part of the recall and their no charge invoice showed it as being P/N 89017530.
The old and new FPR's are quite different from each other as shown in the pics posted above by fishus.
