Just installed a stereo on car, will that viod warranty

I just installed a stock stereo on my 04 cavalier, but when i turn on the switch i found out it was locked, i called the dealership to ask if the could unlock it and they said yes and that it would only take 10 mins, then he asked who installed and my dumb ass said me, then the guy said that might of viod my warranty, what should i do?

Take it out put the old one back in and play dumb if they ask anything

i asked around and people say that since i didn't cut not wires or anything there is nothing to worry about, and that i should just go the the dealership and have them unlocked it, there is codes to unlock stereos, so if something like that happens the best thing is to take it to them and they will have it fixed, if they asked how it got locked to make something up.

oh yeah i forgot to mention that the stereo i installed, is the same as the one i took out (made for same year and same car) except that this one has cd player and the old one only had radio,
