ok...mustang finally crapped out (tranny isn't making modding fun anymore)....onto something new...

gotta decide pretty soon so here is my major dilemma:

wait for the EVO or STi to come to US shores or go ahead and buy the WRX now...

does anyone know a projected date for the EVO for the states? i talked to a rep at the recent detroit autoshow and he told me that the only problem they are having is meeting emissions without sacrificing power...

does anyone have any solid information regarding the import of the EVO to the us market? is the price around 30k? 276ish hp?

thanks for any insight you might be able to provide..i know you must get these q's a lot...sorry about the lengthy post.

yea, i heard 28base 32fully equipped. and 300+ horses. this is all from the motor trend. they also said a release date of 4th quarter 2002, but realistically, i think it'll be early 2003. Oh well, it's worth the wait. Personally, from a business standpoint, they better release it b4 the STI comes out if they want the public's full attention.

The article says "276" but don't believe it because when they drove it it was pushing 300+... it does say something like that

the 276hp figure in japan is a gentlemans agreement only both the stoi and the evo have over 300 on the dyno

let's not argue about what the real number on the hp is going to be. many sources have said different things so we (the future consumer) can't make any proper guesses. anyways, just know that when you have your evo vII most people can't compete with you so you won't have to worry about it!

another thing is that they said that perhaps the lancer will first come over to the us with the wrx's weak 227hp. then as time goes on they take and make the lancer to the respectible 276+ hp. although they already brought the "so-called" 120 hp lancer over here so the may go straight for the goods.

also any one hear anything on the 4000 gt that is replacing the 3000gt?
just a rumer i heard.
