I just wanted to know how many other del owners are in the usa that own a TRUE JDM RHD Del Sol Sir Transtop?

I just got one, I have been after one for the past 5 years now. I was going to modify, but it is now going to stay all true JDM.

No, am not looking for another. I am looking for a us spec for my daughter. She will have to save up to get for her own. But I know what is going to happen. She will most likely smash it or let someone else drive it and reck it.

I second Emily's recommendation. If your daughter is just going to destroy the car she gets, buy her a Civic or something easily replaceable and repairable. Del Sol's are becoming increasingly more difficult to find in good shape and parts can be very expensive, especially if it's something Honda doesn't make anymore.

think about it this way.. in the sol's entire production run, 74,936 were made in the US. They make that many civics in one year Body parts are expensive and hard to find. I would never give a kid a sol as a first car because you'll do one of two things:

1 - buy one in really nice shape, for about $7500 - $10,000, and then proceed to spend a crapload on that 96/97 front bumper when she rearends someone in a parking lot.

OR

2 - buy one that's not in the greatest aesthetic shape, with some dents and dings, for about $3000, but then spend a crapload when parts start failing (Sols are notorious for the A/C condenser going, along with a few other little things).

So, that said,

I understand what you all r sayn bout he civic's. What u dont know is that i have parts from 12 del sols I scraped. I only have one del, it is my jdm. I will not let my daughter have it, she does not want a civic, we have 4 of them in out family. So I told her we will rebuild one with the parts i have, however when i scraped all of these dels, she was 13 y/o. Didnt have any interest in a Honda, she said at that age she wanted a frickn NEON. I said hell no, so if thats how U R goin 2 B. You wont drive anything till your 18 and out of my house. So she came around and has fallen in love with the del sol. ( sorry I will not part with any of my sol parts ) I thank you for your interest in helping me, but I am gettin way stressed. All she talks about is a Del Sol 24/4, never shuts up bout them. I am very tight on cash these days, we lost our family business 3 months ago. So I only get a didly for unemployment funds. 6 kids in my family. So way tight on funds, I have more time on my hands then cash.... Thanks all
