New Malibu

I just bought a new 2005 Chevy Malibu and was wondering if I should of come here first. I don't see any posts about newer ones, but just wanted to make sure this is a good car. I hope it as it is too late but just wanted some input from other Malibu owners as to how they run. Thanks for any input you all can give me.

There have been several threads, some created by me (I have an '04 Maxx). Search backwards through the threads.

I think you might be our first '05 owner.

Most of the problems associated with the new model only affected the '04s. The only carryover problems that I know of (which may or may not affect yours) are the left-pull in the steering and the occasional troubles with hot starts. There's a TSB on the steering issue, but nothing yet on the hard hot starts. I don't have either problem. Yet, anyway. My Maxx still has under 2,000 miles as I had an injury and couldn't drive it for 6 months (injury happened shortly after purchase). I still don't drive it a lot.

"e2helper" is VERY helpful and knowledgeable, as you'll see in back threads.

05 malibu

Bought one last week (lt). So far milage mid 30's and everything works. I'm happy.

One thing I'm looking for --

Want to tow behind motor home and wondering if anyone can help learn where the wires are that I can tap into without going all the way back to rear lights.

Thanks.

I don't tow vehicles so sorry for dumb question but what lights are you trying to tap into (stop/turn/parking/back-ups)? I know in the owner manual it talks about pulling fuses to pretty much disable vehicle to prevent battery rundown so you must want to tap your motor home rear lamps into vehicle (without backfeeding and stuff)?
