Exclamation Whats up with my headlights?

A few days ago, i replaced my headlight and turn signal bulbs with Silverstars, and then put the lights back in. Drivin home from my friend's, I noticed that although my lights are brighter, they are aimed lower and worse than before. I know how to aim em, but theres a problem with both lights. The driver's side one fits pretty snug and doesnt shift left or right, but theres a lot of up and down play to it, so i doubt the adjuster screw is doin crap. The passenger side light fits fine and doesnt have any play to it, but the adjuster screw is stripped on the inside, and I can't even turn it with pliers, so theres no movin it. Should I take it to the mechanic, or just get new headlights?

Have you priced them lately?
What year is your car? No troubles with the old ones?

woops just re read the post. i recommend getting new housings. they will make your new bulbs look a little brighter, and they will aim your beams back to the correct patten after adjustment.

My car is a 99 GT, and yes, ive looked at the price for headlights, n im only 18 n workin part time, so replacing them doesnt sound that fun with the kind of money i have (or don't have). My headlights were messed up before and i knew it, but they were bearable. Now they're to the point where i really need my brights, or at least my fogs, whenever possible. If anyone knows a place to get a good deal on new headlights, i would definitly appreciate it.

I'll keep an eye out at some of the other forums.
The older the body style is getting the harder they are to find. And when you do, who wants to pay that price for them.
