Still Looking...

I have been all over my 99-Intrigue and I still cant find the Keyless entry reciver. I'm sure olds hid it somewhere, and I really need to get it repaired or replaced without resorting to the steelership... Please Help.... Thanks

Re: Still Looking...

Hi

I am reading this late. I'll look tomorrow in my manual - I have the factory manual - and see if I can find it for you.

Re: Still Looking...

O.K.

the RCDLR (remote control door lock receiver) is located (buried really) in the upper instrument panel. It is at a point just behind the upper right corner of the instrument cluster (speedo, Tach etc.), and directly forward of the left center A/c panel outlet.

To get to it the book says you can remove some of the dash trim - the upper instrument panel upper trim panel. It is the plastic panel laying along the base of the windshield. They say to first remove the windshield pillar garnish molding - which is the plastic trim along the A pillars from the dash to the headliner. These are held by retaining clips, so they should pull off. Then you can remove the upper panel trim by " lifting approximately 2" and pulling rearward to release the upper trim panel retainers". There is a caution note:"remove the upper trim panel slowly. The retainer clips could possibly fall into the instrument panel".
Once that is off it appears there is an access hole in the center of the dash. The receiver should be attached to the under side of the dash just aft (toward the driver) of the rear of the access hole. It says to remove it "release the remote control door lock receiver by releasing the retainer clips". You can then unplug the receiver.

I cannot recall your original problem. Are you looking to disable the system? Or are you going to replace the receiver?

Re: Re: Still Looking...

Thank You For the Info, I'll try to find it later today, if it dosent get to hot out..(texas weather) but as for the problem, the reciver only works when it's cold out and then it also opens the trunk anytime it feels like it. So I'm gonna take it out to have it repaired or I'll replace it. Thanks again and I'll let you know how hard it is to get to...
