2001 Explorer Over heating
My 2001 Ford Explorer overheats within about 10 to 15 mins.
Symptoms: There is power loss in 2nd gear at about 15 to 35 miles per hour, it feels like the transmission is missing shifts, no accelerated response, the A/C comes and goes, and the check engine light came on 2 weeks ago. Any likely suspects? Thermostat, water pump? There are no leaks and all fluids are topped off, including radiator fluid and resivior. Much Thanks! |

Ford Thermostat
I would start with replacing the t-stat from Ford.
Aftermarket t-stats are designed different and Ford's temp monitoring is sensitive. When you buy an OEM t-stat from Ford it may not include the O'ring. Be sure to get a new O'ring from Ford. Just my opinion. |
