Just put in 3rd gen lifters, an worse tick!!
So ive had 3rd gen lifters sittin in a bowl of oil for a little over a year now an have been waiting to put them on.. well i went ahead an changed them while i was changing spark plugs a wires. So when i just cranked it up for the 1st time with them it was ticking real loud. after about 10 minutes it quieted down a little bit but not much..(it ticks a whole lot more than my 1 gen lifters. also my other lifters didnt tick all that much, just at start up)..... i took off oil cap an they were pumping plenty of oil. it sounded like the tick was coming from the back.. but i noticed while putting them in that 22 of them i couldnt compress with my fingers, while 2 of them gave. i just figured all would work in. but what the hell.. these are brand new lifters. any1 ever heard of this problem??

Did you pull the plug in from the CAS and turn it over several times before you tryed to start it?? If not you did a majorly dry start. Also I have heard you need to "bleed" the lifters after installing them.

CAS? i did however turn it over several times with jus the starter. but all is good now. after letting it idle for 40 minutes the tapping suddenly stopped. an hasnt returned yet.. maybe they just needed to work in.
