::3 Questions:: 1. "Rachet" like noise coming from underneath towards the front

When I rev my engine it only makes a lil noise but when I let go of the gas it makes a "rachet" noise just like if one would tighten a bolt and then let the rachet go the other way to get another go at tighting the bolt.. Kinda thing somthing is rattling.. but don't have a clue wear to look..

Also I just changed my airpump finally.. and they suggested changing the check valves however I couldn't break them loose so I left the old ones on.. and my service engine light is no longer on.. is this good in having the old check valves still on.. ?

And finally I was wondering if changing the front differential seal the one around the axle is easy? I heard it wasn't too hard if you have the right tools.. I wanted to ask here to see if there was any tips or input that any of you might know of..

Thanks again..

- Tom

ok.. i think a couple peices of burnt rubber hose might of gotten down to the cat and rattles around.. maybe.. .. wouldn't this cause the rattle all the time?

also i meant front driveshaft not axle.. and any info on the check valves?

That sounds ike you front diff is partially engaged.

Do not drive it like this.

Take it to a shop and have them check out ASAP.

Re: ::3 Questions:: 1. "Rachet" like noise coming from underneath towards the front

I found the problem.. the problem was that rubber pieces went into my check valve.. and is causing it to rattle... Going to replace it next week.. any suggestions on the front differential seal?

That's the fly plate, look at the line goin around the outside of the bolt holes. The entire center section snapped on mine (as you can see in the pic) and sounded like a card in spokes when it first started. By the time I replaced it, it sounded like a drunk and angry midget with a hammer who hadn't been laid in 10 years and just gave up smoking because he was worried about it stunting his growth...
