A/c

I had the evap.core replaced on my caprice and the system refilled. It blew luke cold air, except when I got up to speed then it was cold. Come to find out the cooling fan on the drivers side was burned out (noticed that after it overheated a little on me).

So the A/C works fine for a few days after getting the cooling fan replaced, then one day I turn on the car and the A/C and blows hot air, I can hear the compressor engaging and disengaging about ever 2 seconds.

The next day (today) the compressor does not even engage when I turn the crap on. Hopefully my mechanic will be able to take it in the morning to look at.

Any guesses on what it might be, take bets from anyone.

Re: A/c

You've got a leak in the system somewhere.... when the compressor kicks on, and then off, it means your low on refridgerant. When it doesnt come on at all, either the compressor's shot, or you're just too low on refridgerant that it wont kick on.

Re: A/c

Sounds like a leak to me too...

I'll even bet that your evap never had a problem... I'll bet it was the lack of airflow caused by the fan...

Good Mechanic...

Right on the money! The leak came from a fitting in one of the lines.
