How do I set the ignition timing on 1989 Fletwood

I replaced the distributor cap and rotor and two of the bolts broke as they were fronzen. While I was removing the distributor cap, the whole assembly moved and I need to set the timimg. It is a 4.5 liter V8 engine. The car is a 1989 Fleetwood Front wheel drive.

My questions are:

How do I do it ? There is a label on the engine for setting the timing. It states to connect a jumper between terminal A and B on A.L.D.L. connector. Where do I find this connector ?

It also states that it is 10 degrees BTDC. I can see the marks with the different angles marked but when I set the timing light I could not see the mark on the flywheel just below it. Is this the flywheel that I am supposed to look at for the mark ?

Also in which direction does the rotor turn when looking at it from the top ?

Is the distributor supposed to be loose or is there are bolt that I am supposed to loosen and tighen ? I found it stranged that the distributor can move with a few taps on the cap. I was tapping the old cap to break it so that I could then get better grip on the bolts that were frozen.

Thanks,

Luiggi

The ALDL connector is the OBD port under the dash. The two top right pins must be grounded together by a wire. Just run a bare wire between the two. Then start the engine. The DIC should have a message saying "Set Timing Mode". Then you can check and set the timing.
There is a 15mm nut holding the distributer clamp down. It's very hard to get to. The timing marks are for every 2 degrees. You can set the timing as high as 12 to run on premium only, but 10 is the base setting.
