Why are mustang driver's so ignorant?

I was at a party last night when I saw somebody's 92 Mustang GT, it turned out to be my friend’s cousin. So my buddy was telling his cousin that I have a 97 Z28 and his response was, "I could take him." So I asked what do you have in it. "302, cai, bigger exhaust tips" WTF??? I couldn't believe how confident this guy was that he could take my LT1 Camaro with his 302 Mustang! Later on in the night he said his Stang keeps up with LS1 SS's!?!?! It seems like most Mustang drivers, if not all, that I come across think that they're the fastest cars on the street. Even the V6 ones!!!

Now I'm not bashing Mustang's in this thread as they have earned my respect, but I know there are faster cars on the street, why can't Mustang drivers get this through their thick head?

BTW the reason I didn't say "get in your car, let's race," is because I was drunk.

You shouldnt start threads like this, I mean sure alot of guys who own cars go way over their heads and dont really consider the actual facts about how fast their cars actually are, now no one can be certain but sometimes its a dream like his 302 Stang against a LT1 or LS1 Maro. You cant put that type of ignorant person though in one crowd because there are many guys like that, that own Maros.

Re: Why are mustang driver's so ignorant?

yes, you should hear the shit they say about camaros. its rediculus. it will be a mustang dude talking shit about a camaro and how heavy they are and how they are wedge shaped and then he cant even keep up with a barely modded one and his list of mods in his signature is like 6 lines long.

F****** six lines?!?!?! And the camaro can barely keep up? Something's wrong with his mods then. That is really sad. There is this friend of mine, has an 84 Mustang SVO, with 87 5.0 swap in it and some flowmasters, 5-speed. He swears up and down that my maro, even with mods wouldn't be able to take him. I know stock, i wouldn't be able to touch him, but what he doesn't understand is that when i do put mods into the car, it's over. I heard somewhere that the 5.0 came from the factory with headers, nice 5-speed, and 3.35 gears, and i believe the 350 iroc came from the factory with manifolds and 3.23, and an automatic, and they can beat them 5.0s. Now put headers, a 5-speed, and some gears and what do you have, a level 3 sex offender on mustangs.

Re: Why are mustang driver's so ignorant?

Are enlarged exhaust tips considered and performance mod?....anyways i agree with what rally said about how there are plenty of very ignorant camaro and firebird drivers who act big and knowledgeable and then in the process of them thinking that they know what they are doing they destroy their cars. Its quite sad actually. Like those so called "chips" that are sold on ebay. A guy I met through a friend has a 97 firebird and he bought one. I tried to convince him that it was not good for the car but he was sold in beleiving that it would give him 60 hp. I wanted to hit him. But i refrained. That is a small example of ignorant fbody owners. And dont get me wrong I am certainly not completely knowlegeable about these cars but i can appreciate what is best for the car. Now, I dont bash mustangs too much, at least not the older ones, because they are decent cars....just a tad slower than camaros. Ill never own one because its a ford car....but they are still ok....for a ford. Ill always prefer the camaro of course though.

Re: Why are mustang driver's so ignorant?

this is from experience, (on the street not at the track) ive smoked camaros, ive smoked mustangs, ive been smoked by camaros, cant say ive been smoked by a mustang - one beat me off the line once before i had a t.a. and stuff - ive seen some mustang dudes throw some damn hissy fits, and every camaro i have ever raced just wanted to say nice race or wanted to ask what i had done or something polite.

From your thread "A few more kills"

went on a little ride with my old maid and smoked the hell out of a GT on the interstate and he rolled up beside me and gave me props cause he got his ass totally handed to him.

a maroon LS1 z28 with some dubs and the top down, got him off the line all the way up to 80 or so, the he rolled up beside me talking about "its an automatic", im like "thats no excuse!"
Don't lie and don't instigate flame wars, and if you're gonna lie at least don't contradict yourself right away, jackass
