JUST LOOKED AT A 92 MPV 4x4...WON'T START...HELP???

I just went and looked at a 92 MPV V6 4x4 automatic with all the bells & whistles I could want but about six months ago when they were going to sell it and the guy moved it to the front yard but then later that day it would not start up and hasn't since. He has put in new plugs, dist. cap, rotor, starter was new about a year ago, battery is good, coil tested good, BUT still will not start and it has 145,000 miles on it.. When key is turned everything comes on but will not start. He did have an automatic start remote put in about a year ago.
He wants $800.00 but I think I can get it for about $500.00, this guy works with me and I know he needs money for wife medical bills.
I am a female and know a lot about repairs but never worked on a Mazda MPV.
What do you think???
Should I buy it???
It was really taken care of and looks so nice.

I was thinking maybe the newly installed starter went bad,
or an inline fuse somewhere,
maybe a relay, any suggestions???

Please let me know what you think???

You may want to check out the neutral start switch. Be sure that it is correctly aligned. Another thing is to hit the starter real hard with a hammer. This worked with my '93 MPV after it has been sitting for a while.
