Cool Got my baby yesterday

It may not be the best car in the world, or the fastest, or the snazziest, or whatever. But I went, and I bought myself a cobalt coupe. I got a base coupe with a spoiler. Cosmetically I'm planning to put on some nice 17 inch rims, a skirt kit, and I'm tinting the windows. It's victory red, which is the most gorgeous red I've ever seen.

Performance wise, I'm not sure yet. I want to do it myself, but my knowledge is limited. I want to up the horses a bit, but not until I can ride stick a bit better.

It's such an awesome little ride. It's pretty roomy, solid, nice steering, quiet, the stereo sounds weird, but no big deal, I'll get that taken care of. Yesterday was also the first day I drove around with a stick. I like it. I'm still a bit shaky, and I stalled a couple times today, but I'm getting the hang of it.

I love this car. I don't even give a shit if its the "next cavalier". I've driven my mom's 03 cav, and my 05 cobalt, and I can say that the cobalt is a much nicer ride.

I do have some questions. I've never had a new car, just my shit box cirrus that I didn't really care what it looked like (hell, it was PINK!!). What can I use to protect it inside and out? I bought some simoniz shiner stuff for the dash to make it sheen a bit. What can I use for the paint to keep it shining and to protect it from bird shit and alike? I also have a dog that'll be riding with me. Anyone have any suggestions for a waterproof backseat cover?

Thanks!

Re: Got my baby yesterday :lol2:

Congrats on the new Cobalt! I wax my Cavalier three times a year with Meguire's liquid wax and that seems enough to protect the paint. The interior I just vacuum with a Dirt Devil portable vac. I don't use Scotchguard and the seats have held up very well. When my dog rode with me I would just put an old blanket over the back seat and never had any problems with the dog trashing the interior.

Nice. Didn't know they came in victory red. Check out page 3 of the link in my sig. Sorry for bad quality pics, but that's the color of the truck! Very bright, shiny color. It'll get a bit dull on you like in the pic, but you can just wash it, rinse it, and wax if and it'll be as good as new. I forgot the brand, but I use a type of polish that mixes with the water. It doubles as soap to clean the car. I use it on my '99 civic, and it looks like it just came off the showroom floor!
EDIT: for those of you who don't know the color ' victory red', dont' bother to google it. Pictures don't do it justice. Just go to the local dealer and search!
