Airbag blinking code 46? 2002 Ranger
Great, another thing that just started,of course about 7 weeks after my 3 year warranty expired.
My airbag light on the dash is blinking a code 46. Any idea what that means or is it something simple that can be fixed? I dont even want to know what an airbag repair would cost. |

Re: Airbag blinking code 46? 2002 Ranger
Check owners manual for warranty information. Look for Supplemental restraint Systems. I believe some of these are warranted for more than the 3/36. It may be ina separate warranty booklet. Check there first. Your code indicated the drivers seat belt pretensioner has been detected as faulty. The first thing to do is inspect all wiring going to the pre-tensioner. If all wiring is good, the pre-tensioner needs replaced. The system needs to be de-activated before any tests are done. Refer to owners ,manual fuse locations to remove correct fuses to disable the system. If you have removed the proper 2 fuses, the air bag light will stay on constantly for more than 30 seconds. They are in the fuse panel under the dash.

Had the same code. It was the "Airbag Disabled" Lamp below the AC controls was burned out. Went to radio shack and picked up a bulb for 1.99 and soldered it in.
