Got into an accident

Hey all,

I was on my way home tonight and I hit an animal with my 1997 Monte Carlo Z34. I thought that my tire was flat so I pulled over and saw that my tire was fine, but their was a piece of plastic right in front of the Drivers side Front tire. It is right behind the bumper. It is flat on the bottom but on the top their is a Plastic Ball about 7 inches around and thier was a hose prob a vacuum hose attached to it. Can you guys please help me to figure out what part it is.

Colin

Unplug the vac hose. check to see if if the ac/vent/defrost switch still works afterward. if not then it is the vacumn chamber for the ac controls. if the ac still works fine after you plug the hose in the the integrity of the vacum chamber(ball) wasn't damaged. you can remount it if possible somehow or replace it. a new one will run about 20-25 dollars.
