radio antenna help!!!!!
im in a dilema. heres my dilema: my power antenna wasnt working. i order new antenna. i tried to pull out old antenna from top but it wasnt coming out. so i put it back down and decided to do it from underneath. i unscrewed the power antenna assembly from the frame thingys and took off the cover to where the antenna coils up. i see that it was broken in half. so i was look cool , i ordered the right part. but i still couldnt get the mast out. so i was like, alright, ill just unhook these wires and put it in the vice downstairs to make it easier. so i unhooked the one harness, unscrewed the ground wire, and all that was left was the cable running to the front. it looked like it would unhook. so i pulled on the cable by some silver part like 8 inches away from the assembly. it came apart but it didnt look like it was supposed to. i was like
so now im like, what the hell do i do now? i have the assembly in my basement. the base of the mast isnt coming out so i put liquid wrench on it and hopefull itll come out tomorrow. then ill put the new one in but then i encounter the radio cable. can i hope that itll fit back in or can i rewire that little section like just run a little 6 inch wire from each piece? right now i have some plastic and some rags underneath the black thingy (with the old antenn top in it) that holds the antenna on the outside. temp replacement. looks a little ghetto, but better than stupid hole. help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
