91 Camry DX, What is it's market value?
Isurance co. has totaled my Camry. Anyone who bought or sold a 91 Camry over last several months who can provide me sale or purchase data to support that the market value is more than $2200?
Kelley Blue Book = $3690 DX V6 159,000 mi. power locks and windows cruise control tilt wheel cassette premium sound-not sure good condition (before totaled) |

Re: 91 Camry DX, What is it's market value?
Kelly Blue Book is what I would have recommended. The insurance company may use another standard which might be a bit less. Print out the page from the KBB website and begin negotiating with your insurance company. Mail, fax or email the page to them, as you now have some ammunition with which to fight them. Just make sure you are not overestimating the condition of your car. Don't call it excellent when it is only fair. That would ruin your credibility with your insurance company.
Good luck. Mike |

Thanks, Mike, KBB is what I had in mind. I suppose that's where the phrase "Book Value" came from anyway, and they've been around for decades; I think for maybe 80-90 years.
Yeah, I'll start there and go down only if necessary. Of course minus the dedectible $500 and salvage value (they say $400) and cost for previous minor dent (they say $150) in front. Bottomline, they want to give me $1150 after they deduct the above. So, they must be estimating a value of $2200. Thanks for your response. Paul |

I think I remember someone saying insurance companies use NADA. You may be able to get a current copy of one at your local library.
