I am the proud new owner of a 1994 mazda 626 lx 2.0 liter five speed. I purchased the car in poor condition. I have many problems but I will start here. The car starts easy and idles great. When I acclerate past like 1/4 throttle the engine seems to die immediately unless you let back out to under 1/4 throttle and then snaps right back and runs again. If you hold it to the floor it will die. You can drive the car as long as you hold the throttle under 1/4 throttle. It has enough power to drive down the interstate at 60. You just don't have much acceleration to pass and such. The check engine light is not on and everything seems to be great other than this problem mechanically. Please shed some light in my direction I am a new Mazda owner.

Re: Major hesitation under accleration
Yea, I just fixed mine... Your throttle position sensor is bad. Get a new one. If you don't know how or where to install it, get help. If incorrectly installed, you'll ruin a new switch, and possibly kill the e.c.m. Hope this helps..Mark
