Electrical roof for spider

Hi,
just plannig to buy a second-hand Spider, ~3-7 years old. I understand that some modifications (Lusso?) have electical roof. Want to ask spider owners - is it so useful feature? How reliable it is? If something happens to electical part - is it possible to close a roof manually?
