Re: 1990 V6 to V8 swap quick question
Thanks for the update on the gauges. I was hoping it would work out easily as I'm doing something similar.

Re: 1990 V6 to V8 swap quick question
Your coolant temp guage wont work and your speedometer wont work cause the sensors arent setup for a carburated engine. You can work your way around it for a small amount of $$.

I still think it would have been much easier to get all mechanical gauges and replace the ones you have. Rip out the computer bs and do a burnout on it.

Re: 1990 V6 to V8 swap quick question
The speedo does work... I know because I've done it. The coolant temp sensor depends on whehter the A/C is compressor is still hooked up. the reason mine doesn't work is because I've temporarily disconnected the A/C. This is clearly shown in the heating and cooling section for wiring in the Haynes manual. You can modify the wiring to make it work without the compressor there without spending money.
And no it would not be eaiser to pull it all out. I would have had to cut all the wires, take the computer out, then buy new gauges and run the wires, then make a custom dash to put the gauges in or get an older style dash. how is this easier?
