Fujimi porsche 959 1/16 Enthusiast ?!

Anyone here who has this kit, or know if there are any pictures of the actual model somewhere ?
What is the difference between the Blackstar and the normal sport version ?
I've got a bit of 959-fever generally since a month or so and trying to read everything I can find about them, and then why not build a model of it..

I've heard good things about it, but how are the details, fit and proportions? The wheels doesn't look 100%
So: Is it worth looking for?

I was not extremly impressed by the fujimi 1/16 testarossa I built a few years ago..Needed a lot of work..

I have it, and haven't built it. I also have the Testarossa (and haven't built it), and the 959 looks to be a better kit. It looks to be of similar detail level to the Tamiya 1/24 959, but not really the additional level of detail that might be possible with a kit of this size- but probably as much due to the fact that alot of additional detail in a 959 would not really be seen or appreciated as lack of quality. Ignition wiring is included, but not radiator or oil cooler plumbing, etc. One cool feature is you can build it with the 'luxuory' or 'sport' interiors- two types of seats are included. And, of course, the doors open. I think the wheels on mine look OK.

Haven't ever seen the Blackstar kit, but my experinces with Fujimi tend to make me think the Blackstar could in fact be identical to the street stock, with maybe some additional decal trim.... Just a guess, but it wouldn't really suprise me.

Ok. Good info about the seats !
The 959 sport-versions seats are perhaps not the best looking seat design I've seen..

Too bad porsche's in general show very little of their mechanical components.
I will try to get hold of the Black-star kit. Think its just the colour of the molding that differs.

Anybody got any pics of the Blackstar? My LHS has one but I don't know if it's something I even want to attempt building.

Re: Fujimi porsche 959 1/16 Enthusiast ?!

Got the 959 blackstar from HLJ yesterday. Looks to be nicely detailed. The body has some flash lines and needs a little sanding to be perfect.
The body is molded in black, there is some photoetched mesh included and both versions of the seats. I think it is more or less the same kit as the other 1/16 959 but with a black body.
The wheels does not lok exactly as the on the real 959. The spokes looks too rounded but we will see how it turns out. The engine is very nice and you can also put it on a small "jig" and display it next to the car. Only trouble is to find decent reference photos of the engine..

Photoetch?! MINE didn't come with any photoetch.

These are really the best pics I've been able to find of the engine. A place to start, I guess.

Going to be starting it soon?
