Question power windows wiring

Due to almost 20 years of opening and closing of doors the wiring to the front drivers side door has been sliced so I can't control any window from the drivers side. I pulled the rubber boot off the wires and found the pink(hot) wire cut along with the purple/black one. is there a way to remove the connector to the car so I can easilly get at those wires to splice them together? any sugestions would be helpful

I assume your car is a 1985? I believe you have to take off the lower dash from your car to access the connector.

To do this, you have to remove the 4 bolts holding the vent panel in, then remove the 30 or so bolts holding the lower dash in only after removing the vent panel (lower dash as in the section w/ the glovebox and ashtray). You should be able to access the connector then -- it has lots of wires coming out of it (duh) in the area of the door...on my car the connector is tan-colored.

As far as popping the connector off, i haven't done it--but i believe you can just pry it off w/ a screwdriver. There might be a screw at the bottom, but i'm not sure...

Well, good luck and let us know b/c I need to replace a door of my own pretty soon

Re: power windows wiring

An easy way to splice them together in a tight spot is to use Quick Splicers.
