Omega to Nova
I recently came across a very good price on a 73 Olds Omega with no engine or tranny but a straight rust free body. originally the car came with a 350 rocket and a T400 automatic tranny so I know it can take an engine upgrade. So here's my dillemma; the only visible physical difference between the Omega and the Nova is the front end. So how difficult would it be to convert this car from a Granny Grocery Getter to a bad a(SS) Chevy Sleeper. Would a chevy 350 or 400 and a 4 speed muncie bolt up? If anyone knows please help me out.

Re: Omega to Nova
The tail lights and most of the interior is also different. I think keeping it Omega would be way cooler than making it into a cookie cutter Nova that you can see all over the place. Go ahead and put the Chevy drive train in if you want to hop it up.
If you want a "sleeper" a bad a(SS) Omega would certainly surprise 'em after they got spanked!

1968-72 front end on 1975-79 nova
im doing somthing diffrent to my 78 nova, i want to put the entire front end from a 68-72 nova on mine and need to know if this will work. they measure out the same and the body lines are dead on. has anyone done this or does anyone know for sure if this will work? ive done some other mods to the body already (tail lights from 70 1/2-73 camaro, shaved side trim and locks,68-72 quarter windows grafted in place of fact)and this is the last of body mods i need. i could just buy a 68-72 nova but it wouldnt be diffrent this will truly be diffrent and somthing that i have that hasn't been copyed.

Re: Omega to Nova
im with "almoststock" on this one, keep it an omega,
if you want to do somthing diffrent with it put a ventura or a buick front on it not a nova there are to many of those, or leave it olds and put a 455 in it and go have fun! |
