The car starts and runs well.
There is a short period after it idles for about a minute and before it completely warms up that the engine surges. It can't decide between the fast idle (during warmup) and the slower idle (after warmup). If I had specific examples of similar problems and solutions, I could buy the sensor and replace it. Is the temperature gauge going up really fast when it does this? Check your coolant level. My 91 has a small leak in the water pump and whenever the coolant level gets too low it likes to rev back and forth on its own. I put more coolant in and it settles down (and the water pump will be replaced later this summer
