Question Automatic stalls!!

I recently bought an automatic 1985 318i E30 after the previous owner blew a head gasket. I had the head machined but have found a new problem. After accelerating and tehn backing off the engine stalls. The electronics do not turnoff and the car restarts its self from rolling along when you pump the accellerator a few times. The engine and oil lights dont come on like when you normally start the car so what is wrong with my car? And how do I fix it???

Re: Automatic stalls!!

Maybe a fuel fiter . . . spark plugs . . .

I have a 92 325i and mine started fine. . then when it warmed up it stalled.

got a code reader and it said bad throttle position sensor. I changed that and it made a difference but it still stalled.

I took it in the the shop and they changed spark plugs and repaired a couple of vacuum lines and now she runs like ten bears ! ! !

I hope this helps alittle bit . . .

Good Luck ! !
