Re: Diesel acceleration problem
P0216 is the death rattle for the VP44 injection pump. It is on its way out, and there is no correcting it. If you have not yet seen this, you will start to get excessive smoke, usually white or light blue, then you get the "dead pedal" effect and hesitant acceleration.
On the shifting problem, the 47re trans is a dog. You could have problems with the torque, or it could well be the valve body. THey are nto the greatest unit in the world for longevity, as far as auto trannies are concerned. Your VP pump is covered by the 100,000 mile engine warranty, if you are under 100k. otherwise, I have seen prices range from 975 - 1500 bucks for a rebuilt pump. Good luck with it. ANy other ????s PM me |

Re: Diesel acceleration problem
Thanks for quick response. I am looking into how difficult it is to do at home...like does it require special equipment to check components or timing. My library should have some of this information
