wow dude, when you got it all hooked up, drop me a line. I'd love to take a ride!

PS- you need any help or anything I'll come over and we can both give a try at it; that is, if you are doing it yourself. We need to get together sometime anywho, as you are one of the few car enthusiasts around LR!!

I only wish I had the money to get what you got, I gotta work in baby steps

one day my ship will come in...

yeah right!

Either they're trying to rip you off by making you believe that and sell you the engine at a higher cost OOOOR what you really meant is that you got a JDM b16 engine, not b16a2.

NEGATIVE....See, JDM spec engines dont have a number at the end. Only USDM spec engines has the number at the end.

Take as example the ITR engine
B18C and B18C5---> The 5 after the C(C5) means that the motor is the USA spec of the ITR
The JDM spec end with a "C" eliminating the 5 meaning is a JDM spec engine(B18C).
If you take a look all USA engines have a # at the end of the code while the JDM don't:
B18C1--->GSR
B18B1--->LS
B18C5---> ITR
B16A2---> SI
B16A3---> Del SOL VTEC

The JDM SI-R engine is a B16(92-95 SIR, 96+ SIR II)

hmmmm...actually i didn't even think about that till you said it. hopefully these guys are just listing them this way (with #'s) so it'll show up if you search for them or something...they better be sending a JDM, not a USDM or i'll be a little pissed...by the way, isn't there a way to check on the engine to tell if it's JDM or USDM?
later.

All engines has the code# on the block. It usually is below the valve cover,where the Cam belt is.
If it says b16a Its a JDM engine
If it says b16a2 its USDM spec engine(99-00 Civic SI)

You can also ask them, if they say b16a2 jdm spec then you'll know they don't know what theyre talking about.

Cam belt?

If you mean the timing belt for the cams then - you must not know what you're talking about because the cam gears are on the opposite side of the motor than the block stamp.

My bad, youre right. i confused my SOHC engine with his B16(DOH). My engine has the code on the Timing belt,cam gear cover.
I forgot DOHC engines have the code on the other side...
My bad
