engine problem? please help!

I have a '94 626 2.0L that I just got 5 months ago. When I first got it, the check engine light would go on and off frequently, but when I had it checked at a shop, no codes came up listing what was wrong. A week ago, the car started running hot so I had the thermostat changed and it was ok after that. I just found the two top bolts that go from the mass airflow sensor to the air cleaner housing were missing. When they were replaced and tightened, the check engine light did not come on anymore. But as soon as that was done, the car started running funny. It has lost power and sputters like it wants to stall. You have to floor the gas to get it to go. I tried changing the spark plugs, adjusting the timing, running Seafoam through it, and also fuel injector cleaner. Any ideas on what happened? It ran fine until the bolts were replaced.

I would try removing the bolts that you mentioned. A hose or wire could have been pinched etc.
