do you guys ever set up races ahead of time?

not big organized events like the stupid movie, but call somebody and just agree to run on X date at X time at X place? my car is bone stock and i havent had but 3 races, all from just chancing to be at a redlight. until i get some work done, i plan on just putting ricers in thier place... well i left one of these(filled out and all!):

under someones windshield wiper, it was a primer black neon, fart can exhaust, and a wing. i know who the owner is, but havent met him formally. i wrote on the back "Race to redeem yourself: (phone number)" if he wants to prove me wrong. so far, no call, but what do you guys think of this?

Re: do you guys ever set up races ahead of time?

Hmmm...give a guy you just royally pissed off your phone number...you might want to think that one through next time.
As for setting up races, it's a lot more exciting for me because there is time for tension and excitement to build.

Re: do you guys ever set up races ahead of time?

Its fun alot of camero owners h8 import cars and think thier damn cars will own anything.

Most of em at least have an LS1 and will stomp on alot of diff cars. But you guys with the LT1 Think you have a god damn ferrari, its ridiculous. Your car is good for a mid 14 pass.

Well considering that he is talking about a neon, I don't see how you figure he has an inate hatred of imports because he has a Z28.

I've never set up a race. I just go along, and if someone wants to, then it's a go.

Good stunt with the ricer citation. I wouldn't be surprised if he did call you, then set up a race, then when you two meet, he gets a good group of about 10 guys to smash your car and beat the boogers out of your ass.

Yeah I agree with CivRacer, dumb move...somebody left one of those on my buddys first car, we were looking to beat their ass for some time...even though he had a "pimped out" 92 Sunbird which deserved the citation....ahh the olden days...gotta be careful with stuff like that, some people WILL kill you over it...but at least you say you know who the guy is.

As for the original thread question, yeah I have a few times, usually to shut up a shit talking friend and make some cash at the same time.

Yeah, and the fact that you just gave us all your phone number...

Wouldnt take much searching to find the area code...

Re: do you guys ever set up races ahead of time?

thats what the problem i was thinking of was. i just wanted your input. i know the owner of the neon so i didnt have a problem with it. another problem i just thought of was what if a cop saw it, and set up the race and arrested you? or something
along those lines. ill probably just leave those things on random cars as a joke.

drdisque- that is stupid reasoning. when was the last time you heard of "Good ol' Canadian Muscle Cars" or "Hot damn, this Mexican import is reliable as hell!"

Almost never, but sometimes a buddy and i say something in the line of: " Hey with that new car of yrs, maybe we should race sometime. And then just wait till we come across eachother again and hope were both in our car.

I do find it rather ironic that the car commonly used by domestic lover to claim all things American Muscle are better than imports isn't even made, or should I say wasn't made, in the US...

Re: do you guys ever set up races ahead of time?

well getting back on subject (this thread is getting hijacked like a mofo). Yes i have done this type of thing through forums like this one. Kind of rare because usually the cars are not in my area. But when i see someone post about a car that i can compete with and i know that they live in the State that i do then i just PM them and ask them for a race. exchange numbers and eventually get some footage for the forums and a story to tell too.
