Is my oil pressure to high?

I just installed an oil pressure gauge on my 04 2.2 cav. but now I'm a liitle worried. It's showing that my ool press. is about 80 pds and 70 on idle. I'm not used to oil pressure being this high. I'm old school, you know 60 running and 40 on idle. The gauge is eletrical. I know it's not perfect like an mechanial but I'm sure it's fairly close. Is there something wrong? Thanks

Re: Is my oil pressure to high?

Wow, well if we presume the sensor is reading correctly, then I'd say too high.

Re: Is my oil pressure to high?

I might suggest a quick call to a parts-store or dealer for oil pressure spec.s for the engine, though, before you get too concerned or before any gaskets start to go. The big prob. with newer rides is lack of general spec.s avail. from any manuals [they always about 3 years behind the new models]
