Will the shifter not move into park?

Have you been off roading and bent something on the bottom?

A little more description would be helpful.

It,s like something in the valvebody is keeping it from going into park
nothing is bent is there a switch that could have broken in the valvebody ?

Re: 99 dodge 1500 will not start in park

There is a parking awl in the transmission that is where it actually engages. It's possible that has broken off (if someone slammed it into park while moving), and it may be possible that there's something wrong in the hydraulics of the trans. How's the fluid level, and how many miles on the vehicle?
